Owner of Pilates by Christine, is a Certified STOTT Pilates Instructor. Christine has been involved in fitness just about her whole life. Sports were very important to her growing up and she continued that path through college and graduated from Anderson University in Anderson, IN with a BA in Physical Education and Health.
She decided to further her career in personal training and later added YogaFit and becoming certified Pilates Instructor. Her experience over 25 years includes strength training, mobility work, pre/post rehab, postural guidance, balance and stability training and more. Most importantly her main goal is to help her clients feel better both physically and mentally.
My name is Amanda and I wasn’t always a Pilates Instructor…in fact I had no idea what Pilates was until I had a devastating back injury while I was a nurse. I was adamite about not having surgery so my back surgeon recommended Pilates as an alternative.
I then learned that Pilates was a low impact, controlled stretching and strengthening program to help align and rehabilitate the body and bring it back to balance. Shortly after, I tried it and I was hooked! It changed my life!! I loved how it combines principles of Awareness, Balance, Breath, Concentration, Center, Control, Efficiency, Flow, Precision, and Harmony.
Because of Pilates coupled with mindful practice, I was able to overcome my debilitating back injury and move and take care of my family again. It then became my passion to teach others how to heal energetically and use joyful movement through Pilates so they can feel beautiful, purposeful and energized every day.
